I'm sure there are times you say "why didn't we think of this before" to. The new update to the custom properties is very subtle but a huge time saver. SOLIDWORKS has added the ability to perform OCR on custom properties now.

Even with phenomenal updates to the user interface saving you truck loads of time, there were aspects of the industry that was out of your control. For instance, vendor or customer drawings that were skewed or smudged beyond the software ability to read properly. This forced the users to manually input the characteristics. Of course what is the purpose for software if you are going to do it all manually! SOLIDWORKS has now given you the ability to modify the OCR dictionary so that you can read those pesky font types. All you need to do is launch the OCR Editor to define what letters/numbers from your vendor/customer drawings represent and create a whole new font directory.
