SOLIDWORKS 2016 What’s New - Equal Length and Equal Curve Length Parametric Relations - #SW2016

Let's discuss SOLIDWORKS 2016's new EQUAL CURVE LENGTH relation and how to put it to use.

Using relations, you can apply equal measures to a set of lines, circles, arcs, and splines. Toggle the visibility of these relations on and off by clicking to clear or activate the VIEW SKETCH RELATIONS found under the VIEW menu. EQUAL SolidWorks relation will make line segments of equal length, while the EQUAL CURVE LENGTH SolidWorks relation will apply equal length to any combination of two circles, arcs, or splines.

SolidWorksRelation Capabilities:

EQUAL SolidWorks

  • Two line segments
  • Two circles
  • Two arcs

EQUAL CURVE LENGTH SolidWorks

  • Two splines
  • A spline and an arc
  • A spline and a circle
  • Two arcs
  • An arc and a circle
