SOLIDWORKS 2015 What’s New – Selection Sets #sw2015

Selection of Hard-to-pick Entities

New SOLIDWORKS 2015 selection paradigms make it easier to select small entities without having to zoom or use selection filters.

When you make repeated small mouse movements as you try to select an edge or face,

the software adjusts the selection method to a more precise selection methodology. When

your mouse movements become large again, the software returns to the selection

methodology used in previous SOLIDWORKS versions.

To prevent the new selection method from being used, click Tools > Options >

Display/Selection and clear Enhance small face selection precision.

Selection Sets:
You can select multiple entities in a model or drawing and save the selections as a selection
set that you can return to at any time.

When you create a selection set, it is saved in the Selection Sets folder in the

FeatureManager design tree.

SolidWorks

Selection Sets can be created in a model or assembly.

To create a selection set, simply select the items in a model or assembly, right click and "Save Selection"

By default the selection name will be "Selection-Setn(nn)"

n is the order of creation, (nn) is the number of items in the selection set.

After selection sets are created, you can remove any items in the selection set as desired.

You can select items using the standard selection methods.
