Euromold 2013 - Day 3&4 Update

As the Euromold show comes to a close, the over 1000 exhibitors and 55,000 attendees begin to make their way back to various parts of the world.  It has been an incredible show.  I've seen some incredible technologies in the last four days.

My AMUG colleague, Gary Rabinovitz, tested out a new handheld scanner.  With this new handheld scanner, Gary had his head scanned and an STL file on a usb drive in under 5 minutes.  It's important to point out the price of the scanner – only $400 dollars.  For those of you interested in reverse engineering, there were a number of other low-cost, but very accurate scanners on display.  A few of my old colleagues were even demonstrating their scanner that allows the user to scan right into SolidWorks and manipulate the data without having to learn a 3rd party software.  Scanning technology has come a long way in a few short years.
