I'm with you on this - hearing 'Please reinstall Solidworks' is almost as bad as the general PC guy saying 'Lets just reinstall Windows...' So much customization (and possibly valuable data) is lost in the process, that it should truly be considered the last drastic recovery step, instead of the default fix.

Now, if Solidworks would stop changing which folders it wants everything stored in every few versions, and was a bit more conscientious about cleanup when replacing older versions, a lot of these problems might go away. I've been updated since SW97+, and more than a few times I've had to take a registry editor and search and correct corrupted paths.
